Got H4
Hi all

Finally I got my H4 after a stressfull wait of about 3 months. In my H4 application process I have experienced that its not a difficult thing if you can have the documents required by the consulate. I applied first time after first week of my wedding and I had wedding photographs, my husband's H1 original documents and my husbands original passport. But the visa officer wanted to see annotation in the passports and marriage certificate. We got the annotation done and also got marriage certificate from a different Jurisdiction since we were married there and we applied for visa in Calcutta consulate. On reapplication the visa officer wanted to verify the authenticity of the marriage certificate and it took about 3 months to verify since it was from different jurisdiction. After the verification the Consulate called us and we were given the visa in 5 minutes without any questions. So the conclusion is:

1) Never apply without annotation and marriage certificate.
2) On further research we found out that the fastest process of getting a H4 is to have a court marriage. In this one of the spouse can apply for the petition even if the other spouse is out of country. After 30 days both of them can appear in court and get the court marriage done instantly. This court marriage proof is more than enough to get H4. So if you are planning a very short trip to India to get married and get your spouse over here; this may be the best option.

Good luck to all of you.
