Adjustment of Status - I-485

So, after my AoS interview on 8/19, I haven't heard anything from uscis. My EaD expires on 9/27/2019. DMV will not renew on just my receipt notice for renewal of the EAD. So I have had a tough day. My employer (bless them) accepted the receipt notice. I tried to call uscis on this matter, but that lady I spoke with was CLUELESS. wouldn't even connect me to a level 2 officer. Till next week, they say. I ask her "why? Are they all on vacation? This is urgent!!".
So I went to my congressman office. It was locked. phone going direct to voicemail. I waited 2 hrs and called again. Voicemail. Called another office location for the congressman, and they answered. Explained my issue and they told me to wait. After 3 minutes, they told me to go back to the office (it's 4 miles from my house) . I went and explained everything. They took copies, made me sign a release and long story, today they called me and my greencard has been approved.
They say I just check online but they forwarded me the email from uscis.
Being relentless helps.
I was in big trouble because without a license I couldn't drive to work and I have bills!
