H-1B lay off
Hello,

I was working on H-1B, I was laid off in April, 2010 and my employer withdrew/cancelled my H-1B,
I did not change my status to any other visa like B1 or F-1. Now I have found another job and my visa is being processed, it has to be approved before I can start working again as my last pay stub is from April, 2010. I have H-1B visa stamped on my passport which is valid till Dec 2012. I want to know what do I have to do when I get my approval, do I have to just go out of the country and come back with a new I-94 if that is the case, can I go to Canada for a quick visit and come back with a new I-94 or do I have go to my home country (India) ? or Do I have to get a new H-1b VISA stamped on my passport to re-enter and start working again ?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

SV
