H1 and H4 Visa experience
Hello Guys,
Here is my experience,
Bio-matric-
27-Mar-17 (Mumbai) - appointment time 3:45 (As was traveling from Gujarat kept late afternoon time)
Reached at visa application center for biometric at 2:00 PM, I checked once with security person outside gate, he said up to 3 PM appointment can go inside, and I waited outside and asked again around 2:30 or so, and checked with him again, and this time he said you may go inside.
Asked us to leave mobile and any electric equipment outside building (Includes Fitbit or any other fitness tracker).
You need to keep the only passport and DS-160 form with you, before entering inside, they scan the DS-160 form and then allowed us to go inside.
Again there is kind of security check, and then they ask us to show passport and DS-160 (They checked name and Passport and looked at us with passport photo reference).
Went further inside, and for my case, I had to change my wife DS-160 number, so we asked them to change our, hence she printed another sticker of latest DS-160 confirmation and stick to passport back again (website currently not allowing us to change it though you can update of your own. So guys for any amendment don't panic, you can just fill out another DS-160 and carry along with you and asked at the 2nd counter at bio metric they will help you out.)
After sticker, you get token, and you will be in the queue, once your number comes, you need to go to the respective counter, and they will ask birthday and name, and take your photograph and finger print for all hands and stamped our DS-160. less than 15 mins and everything completed for biometric.
28-Mar (Visa interview)-
I got appointment slot of 10 AM, so I reached there around 9:15, and can see huge queue out side of building, all standing for 9:30 appointment, once whole 9:30 queue moved, I joined as 10:00 AM queue, sharp 10 our queue started moving, but still not in side building, after 20 min wait outside, we moved in side first building.
Here they asked DS-160 and passport (I noticed someone took the fresh copy of DS -160 instead of carrying bio metric day, which has stamps etc on it, and they got some trouble, and I don't know what happened with them. Silly things happen in life) In first building, your security check will be done, and you will be moved to another waiting area where you can seat and wait for your turn.
We waited till 11:30 and then we got our turn to go inside building 2 where interview was taken place.
First, they will take your passport and call you one by one near window, where they will do biometrics check (Ask you to place your finger as they instruct and then they give you passport back). Next queue is for the final interview. But in my case, when my turn arrived for biometric, that lady said no for me and my wife, and I was asked to sit down and wait until they call me, they haven't said any reason why I have to seat. this was kind of panic situation, but tried to keep my self calm and compose.
After 10 min another lady asked us to come to the window, and she said your petition got amended, do you have an original petition, and I handed over it (Luckily was carrying a copy of original one as well). Then she asked that all she needed, and again asked us to seat for 10 mins or so, meanwhile we were listening questions asked to people, and hearing words like we are approving your visa.. etc.. after some time she asked us to come to counter, and then she handed over passport with the petition.
By this time only 6-8 people left inside the building. and now we did our bio metric check, and she asked us to move forward for interview.
So staff persons became bit liberal now and asked us to choose your fav window for interview, as its kind of end of day time, we got one window, a lady visa officer, and conversation started,
