H1B, H4 Visa

Hi,

I got my H1-B approved yesterday in Chennai. My interview was scheduled for 4:45 pm. In the entrance of the embassy, there was a check for passport and we receipt. After it was checked I was let in the main gate at 4:30 pm for security check.After security check I was let in another gate where there was some 4 counters. After paying Rs 441 draft to TTS service, I was asked to stand in counter 1. In the counter 1 the lady took draft for Rs 4400 and asked me to go to counter 4. In the counter 4 he will ask for the green receipt and the green folder. he will arrange all the documents in the green folder and handed me the green receipt with number on it. After that I went to another building where the interview is being held.

After entering the building I was asked to wait in chair. I was then called by the number in the green receipt and was given the green folder with all the documents. I was then asked to stand in the Queue for finger prints. Iwas then asked to go to counter 13 where I gave my finger prints and the green folder. After verifying the green folder, he asked me to go to counter 8.

I was waiting in counter 8 when again I was asked to go to Counter 7 where one US lady interviewed me.

Off: Who is the client?
Me: Client name is xxxxxxx

Off: Tell me about the project?
Me : described about the project

Off: Why have they selected you for the project?
Me : I am working in this project for more than a yr

Off: Why isnt ur wife going with U?
Me: She is working in a critical project in her company. She will join me after completing the project

Off: Do you have childen?
Me: No

Off: Show me your degree certificate:
Me: Showed the original certificate

Off: Pay your VISA fees in counter 1. your Visa is approved.
Me: Thank you officer

The whole process took less approx an hour. Be confident in your answers and keep all the documents as per checklist.
