H1B, H4 Visa

Thanks to immihelp for sharing h1 experience. It helped a lot in confidence and prepare for organize documentation.

1. MY OFC schedule on NOV 14 at 4:00pm and Visa interview on NOV 15 at 9:30 am.
2. Train to Chennai Central by Lalbaugh Express on Nov 14 started at 6:50 from K.R.Pooram. Reached Chennai Central 12:15 pm.
3. Stayed at Hotel Central Tower near Chennai Central Station in Deluxe AC room per night 2000. AC does not work on generated. It is OK-OK hotel at this price.
4. Catched Auto to OFC at 2:00 pm and reached there by 2:20pm. Fare =200.
5. at OFC , not much crowd, so they allowed even if my appointment was at 4 pm. Gate keeper asked for Passport, DS-160 and Appointment letter. You better staple DS-160 and Appointment letter. OFC counter checked only Passport, DS-160 and Appointment letter. Very simple.
6. NOV 15, I went to US consulate by Auto, fare - 150. Reached early at 8:10 am. A big queue. One person checking the timing in front of queue. When I reached at front it was 8:30am. He asked me to wait as he allowed only 8:30 and 9:00 am appointment.
7. At 9:10 am, when all 8:30 and 9:00 am appointment were done, He asked for Passport, DS-160(stumped at OFC centre) and appointment letter.
8. Then a another queue for Securtiy checking, Do not take pen drive, CD or mobile phone otherwise you will asked to deposit them at place in the path of queue. I did not carry any of those things
9. Inside, one more round of security check. i got a slip with number YYYY at a front counter, I guess counter number = 7. They asked for Passport, DS-160.
10. Then slip number is displayed on monitor for counter 8. They again take Passport, DS-160. They wrap both of them and asked to go to counter 12.
11. Counter 12, an american lady asked for left 4 finger print.
12. Then go to another nearby buildling for Visa. Number were displayed on LCD. I could see counter 25 person was taking class of many person. I was just frightened.
13. My number was displayed after 15 minutes for counter 18.
14. Person was an american Gentleman asked following question
a. Company name
b. How many employee
c. Which client
Me: I will be working at company head quarter at ZZZ. (mine is internal project)
d. What is project
Me: It is liferay projct, prorlet technology
e.what is portlet
Me: Yahoo page has many protelt..try to explain more, But he stopped me.
f. You will get visa in a week.

15. Back to hotel by paying 200 to auto rickshaw.

I am keeping finger crossed as many people were asked to provide more documentation even if they are told that it was approved
