Hi - I went to Mumbai for first time dropbox.
March 11 - Dropped off docs. Photo was rejected.
March 13 - Admin processing
March 14 - Passport ready for pick up.
March 15 - Collected passport. 221g green slip asking to appear for interview
March 19 morning - Attended interview. It went well. VO was very nice and friendly. Visa Approved.
March 19 evening - Case updated to Admin processing
March 21 Holiday
March 22 - Case updated to Admin processing
March 25 - No Update
March 26 - Case status changed to Issued
March 26 - At around 3:45pm, passport ready to pick up
March 27 - Picked up passport.
Entire process took 16 days - From drop box to receiving passport with stamped visa
Following points for whoever is doing dropbox:
1) Your photo will most likely be rejected. They have a photographer in the building so that is good. You do not need to go outside the building.
2) Make sure you visit your home country for 3 weeks atleast and be prepared to get 221g and in person interview. Reason to book 3 weeks is, this whole process can take that long if there are holidays in the middle. This might save you some money in re-booking your flight tickets.
3) Try booking refundable flight tickets. A couple of my friends had to reschedule their tickets because the whole process took additional week.
