H1B - IWP / Dropbox - Canada - Question on processing time
Hello!
H1B renewal applicant here. I work in Canada with work permit. I have applied for same type of Visa with same job duties and employer. I have applied for H4s for my family. My application:
Consulate: Applied for Toronto Consulate but documents sent to Ottawa as according to VIS - all renewal IWP applications go to Ottawa.
AUG 19 - Application Received
AUG 20 - Application Updated
My guess is that it due to one or more of the following factors:
1. This wait time is unique to my application (I do not know reasons except that it is normal).
2. There has been a recent increase in the backlog and the consulates are doing their best to deal with the additional load.
3. There has been a shortage of manpower at the consulates causing an increase in the processing time.
Is there anyone else with an IWP application at any of the US consulates in Canada in Application Received status for more than 15 days?
