H1B stamping experience-Chennai consulate
I had my H1B first-time stamping interview today at the Chennai Consulate.
Interview time : 9 AM.
I was let inside at around 8:45 PM. It is wise not to arrive more than 30 min in advance because they don't let us in early anyway.
A token number was given as soon as I was done with the security check.
Based on this token number, I was told to go to a counter to have my documents bundled up appropriately(mainly the passport + appt letter+ ds-160 confirmation in one bundle and other petition docs such as I-797,I-129, LCA and USCIS support letter in another bundle).The token number and the corresponding counter are displayed on the TV in the room.
Next, I was told to go to another counter to verify my finger prints.
After fingerprint verification, I was told to go to another building for the visa interview. I was called for my interview based on my token number.

Background about my case::
First time H1B stamping. F1 student visa to H1B visa
Currently working in the US in the manufacturing sector. Masters degree from an university in the US.

The interview was very simple and straightforward, conducted by a non-Indian consular officer.

1. So you work for YYYY company?
2. What does YYYY company do?
3. How much do they pay you?

Good luck, everyone.
