H1B, H4 Visa

visa interview date : 17th Jan 2012

my interview was at 8AM and i was the second person in the queue
the one in front of me was also a h1b direct employee and the consular officer approved his visa without much questions, just job and responsibilities, which city you are travelling to, how long are you married and how old is ur son and he approved the visa
my turn came, i was confident and smiling too
the officer took some time and looked into his computer for almost 3mins
then asked me to pass the passport and appointment letter

mine in a new employment and a EC model
the interview went like this
VO: are you married
me: yes
VO: will your husband be travelling with you?
me: no, he is a non immigrant in the US
VO: do u have children?
me: no
VO: how long are you associated with your employer?
me: this is a new employment
VO: which city are you travelling to?
me: san diego
VO: who is your current employer
me: XYZ
VO: who is ur reporting manager
me: Mr. so and so from my employer company is my contact person in the US
VO: where does he sit?
me: new jersey
VO: how is your reporting manager supposed to manage you when he is so many miles away
me: he is my contact person in the US, i will be working onsite at client company and will be assigned a supervisor there, i dont know the name yet
VO: is this supervisor an employee of your employer company or your client company
me: client company
VO: so who assigns you work on a day to day basis client or employer
me: client
VO: who gives you the resources to your day to day job
me: client
VO: who pays you
me: employer
VO: who provides you benefits
me: employer
VO: who evaluates your performance
me: employer based on the feedback from my client
VO: what are your jobs and responsiblities going to be
me: i will be on so and so client product
VO: who is the design owner of that product
me: client
VO: will you using any of your employers proprietary tools to do this job
me: no
VO: can you please pass me the petition
me: passed the petition
he looked at my employer letter to USCIS and spent almost 5mins reading it
then he told me "there is some discrepancy here, your employer says that you are complete control of him whereas you are saying that your client is giving you day to day work" i am giving you a 221(g) refusal, i need to look at this case closely or revoke this petition with USCIS, there is more administrative processing to be done
he has taken my passport and all the petition documents
thats it, i lost all the hopes, i heard a lot about 221(g) taking anywhere from 2weeks to 6months

on 20th jan 2012 i got a mail that your passport is ready for courier and can also be collected from visa application centre between 3-4PM, i went there expecting just the blank passport without visa, but was pleasantly surprised to see the passport with visa stamped and all the petition documents intact
