H1B Visa- BEP Employer @ Mumbai Consulate: Approved
I had my H1B visa interview today @Mumbai. Thanks to this site for providing such valuable information. Here is my experience:
- Its always better to take the lounge service as it will save you a lot of hassle. I observed that as soon as we reached the consulate from the lounge we were immediately asked to join the queue to enter the facility. It took total 5 minutes of waiting time here.
- When you enter the office you need to keep only the appointment letter and passport in your hand. You will then go for the security check. If you are carrying only the documents that this will take hardly any time.
- An executive will then collect your appointment letter and will issue the token number. In my case, she also provided me with the documents my company had already sent. Next step is fingerprints. Once done you need to wait for your token no. to be called.
- Biggest lesson: Confidence, along with honesty is the best policy.
- A smile can make the difference :)
I waited for 1.5 hours for my turn and my interview lasted for only 2 minutes. Here are the questions:
1. How much time have you spent with XYZ (my company)?
2. What is your designation at XYZ?
3. Do you have a master's degree or a bachelor's degree?
Me: Clarified that I have a bachelors and a post graduate diploma
4. What is your bachelors degree?
5. In which stream do you have your bachelors?
6. Which is the client?
"Your visa is approved. Your passport will reach you in 7 days" :) :) :)
