Health Insurance
Hey everyone,

I have questions for those of you who have gotten your combo card and SSN already. After I married my husband and around when I started my AOS process, I tried to be added to my husband's medical insurance as a dependent. At the time, we were told that I could not be added to his insurance without a SSN but to call them back as soon as I get one and that I'd be added.

Fast forward to the end of January 2020 and I get my SSN and combo card. I ask my husband to call the insurance company so that I can be added to his plan and they tell him that because he's trying to add me outside of the normal registration period, I need proof of extenuating circumstance. But looking at all the documentation I've gotten from USCIS, I can't find anything that would explicitly be proof as required from the insurance company.

If any of you have been in this situation, what documentation did you provide? How were you able to get added to your spouse's insurance plan?

Thanks in advance to whoever responds and I hope that everyone is staying safe.
