Adjustment of Status - I-485

So my family filled for i485 on July 2018 , we got our ead and advance parole only one month after filling. Then until april we didnt get any notices on the case, we got set our interview in rhe san francisco office for may 31,2019. Interview went really good, officer was nice and just asked questions to re confirm the information he had on his file about us. He didnt approve on spot but said we could get notice in 2-3 weeks . We got a paper that said case is in review. We have plans to travel and its bern 2 weeks since our interview( today is june 14) and we hadnt have any notice and our online status hasnt changed. At the end of the interview we asked the officer if we could travel witht our valid advance parole which is valid until august 27 of this year. He didnt say we couldnt travel at all but just said that we wait for the greencard to arrive because they would approve it much more faster if we are in the united states. However I read some forums online and saw people travelled after their interviews and did recieve their approval and their card while being outside of the country and some even wrote that their officers told them there would be no problem with travelling if they had a valid parole. Does anyone know how does this work? Can we travel after interview with a valid parole ? Will the approval be slower if we are outside of the Usa?? Or can we travel relaxed with our parole and with no problems?( my dad who is the petitioner because of his job would stay in the usa, the travelling would only be for my sister and mother)
