I 485
So my friend's husband is very abusive to her and it was verbally for a lonv time until one day he hit her with his fist and so she was so overwhelmed and called the police because the guy would not let her leave after he hit her.so the police came and the police were looking for bruises on her and she didnt have but she said her cheeks hurt and she feels like its swollen.they were about to take the guy but he turned the table on her and he said she is the one who hit him.all these happened at around 11pm the lady had just come from work and the man had not been working for months and was drinking and smoking weed the whole day.he had bruises on his forehand and he showed that to the police lying that the lady had hit him all because he didnt want to go to jail.so the police were not sure and they took along time before deciding to take the lady to jail.the lady only had ssn,and employment card, driver licence and was waiting for hdr greencard.she then paid bond and came out and the case took atleast four months before the DA decided to file the case.now they went to interview and she failed to mention about the case which had happened just one week before the interview date.after the interview she realized she had done the mistake and went to tell her lawyer about the story and she explained it had escapped her mind and just forgot about it at all.but her lawyer said that she should be fine and just wait for case to finish or for uscis to send the something before they can respond tp anything.now the case started this yaer january and it was still going when all this pandemic started and it put evedything at stand still.well her husband went to her criminal lawyer and told him all these was not trueand that thelady didnt hit him.so the lwayer asked him what happened and he said that he was trying to reach for her when she was laeving through the door and the door hit him thats why he had the bruise.he also called the victim coordinator and told her(lady) the same, but guess what the lady eventually asked him and who called the police,he said he was drunk he cant remember. Well the lady has msgs of abuse for the two years of marriage and also she has witnesses who have witnessed him a couple of times spitting on her face.all these were given to her lawyer and presented to the DA's office.now all fingers cross she is hoping all these dont come haunt her and cause for deportation bacoz she was charged with misdemeanor of domestic violence which is an automatic deportation according to uscis.
So anybody with the same experience shade some light please thanks.also she has never heard from uscis about her i 485 but they renewed her ead last month of march.
