I have been reading experience and following trend on this website. Wanted to share my experience. When we applied for our AOS the PD was current however by the time we got close to our date the visa retrogression happened. Visa retrogression doesn't mean there is no work being done on your case. We had out interview in Mar 2019 and had to wait for our PD to be current for an approval decision to be taken.
