I-485 case approval without interview?
Hello,
My I-485 interview for an EB GC was canceled on 3/17 due to Covid. I received an RFE on 4/21, asking for my medical results. My lawyer seemed to believe this meant they are proceeding without the interview, since my case is EB and quite straightforward. I obtained all the required docs and sent back to USCIS with the RFE cover letter, which was received from Fedex on 5/11. I still have not heard back, and the website hasn’t been updated since my interview was canceled, so I have no idea if the correct person in the field office has received my documents, and is working on my case. What stresses me the most is that I was told if my RFE documents weren’t received by 7/17/20, my case would be denied. Those documents could be anywhere in the field office and I have no idea how to make sure they ended up in the right hands. My lawyer isn’t worried - she believes the next correspondence from USCIS will be my case approval, sent via a letter in the mail. Has anyone else has a similar experience? I’m trying not to stress, but it has just been so much time, stress, money, and work to get this done, I just hope for an answer soon.
Thanks!
