I -94 verification failed at DMV
I am on H1b and my wife is H4. She applied for driver license at north bergen DMV and they said your immigration check verification failed because some possible mistake and you have to contact USCIS.
They did not provide any information where to go and how?
Do following if you face similar situation:
1. go to nearest international airport and find "deferred inspection office" or CBP office(custom and border protection).
2. Ask the immigration officer to correct any possible error.
3. once error is corrected, wait for 2 days in order to get this 'update' reflected in all the systems.
Our issue was solved in this manner. In our situation, both my i-94 and my wife's i-94 has errors so better to get both i-94 checked.
Another option is to visit USCIS field office but that will require to make an appointment via infopass.
