Interview Complete!
Hey guys!

I just had my AOS marriage interview in Montgomery, AL (adjusting from an F-1 visa). It went very smoothly and the officer told me that I was approved on the spot. Since I greatly appreciated reading other people's interview experiences, here's mine:

We passed through security/metal detectors and then checked in at the kiosk. We were asked to present our IDs and appointment notice letter. After waiting for about 5-10 min., we were called in to our interview.

Our officer was very pleasant and quickly put us at ease. After swearing us in, he briefly went over key information from the petition form and the I-485. He updated whatever had changed (my job, my new SSN, etc.). He then ran through all the questions on the I-485 form, and I answered "no" to all of them. Next he said he'd take whatever "evidence of relationship" documents I had. He asked if we had a joint tax form, and I said we didn't (we couldn't file together last year because I was still filing as a Canadian resident). He was fine with that. I then gave him the rest of our evidence: several bank statements showing our joint accounts and account activity, our lease/letter from our landlord, our life insurance, our dental insurance, our car insurance, our car title, copies of old flights we took together visiting each other, 8 pages of photographs over the years, and several pages of texts we had sent each other over the years. (I had additional evidence with me in case he wanted to see more, but he seemed more than happy with the amount we brought. He even complimented us on what good evidence we had and how well organized it was.)

He barely asked us any questions in the entire interview. I was definitely expecting more:

- Did you have a big wedding?
- What made you want to come to [name of university] for school?

That was pretty much it. Other than that, the only questions he asked me were related to updating my information (i.e., what is my job title at my new workplace, when did I start work there), and he made some small talk about his family. He briefly looked through our pictures and commented on one or two, but that was the extent of the interview. He then told me that he was approving my green card right away and I could expect it in the mail in the next two weeks.

Super excited to have reached the end of this process!! My PD was January 30, 2020 (filed with NBC).

Please let me know if you have any questions at all!
