Adjustment of Status - I-485

Hi Friends,

I was hesitant to write because I was waiting for my Green Card to give you the good news, but I could not wait since it's been a week since my interview and my online status still says " Interview was schedule". My interview was last week Sep 25 in Long Island Field Office.

The officer was a nice guy but he was doing his job, asked a lot of questions: how did we meet and where, asked both of us the DOB of each other, how brought up marriage, address, work addresses, name of parents... lotssss of questions, we did answer everything correctly. Asked for pictures, and proof of bona fide marriage, we brought:

Cellphone bill
Joint Taxes
Joint Bank Account
Joint Credit Cards
Joint Credit Card Statements
Lease
Rent receipts
Gift receipts
Travel itinerary
Flight Tickets
Photos of marriage about 100
Photos of relationship 100

Finally after 45 mins of questions and jokes he said the following:

" I am going to request RFI for your background check, once that is in you will receive your green card in 4-5 weeks" and then he escorted us to the door.

I think that is an approval on the spot, but he did not gave us any papers or anything...

Now it's been a week and I have not heard anything, no letter, no status update, nothing. I've seen people from Long Island getting Green Cards in 4 days after approval... a little worried.

I called my attorney and he says It can take up to a year!!!! more waiting??? this is killing me PD Dec 14, 2017 I want to go home for Xmass.

What do you guys think, I hope I can Update this post with the news of my GREEN CARD IN HANDSSSS very soon. Nothing is impossible with GOD!! I hope you guys get a smooth process. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
