Interview experience
So today we had our interview at NYC Federal Plaza. The officer was serious about her job and very respectful and very thorough. First we were placed under oath and then she started asking my wife questions related to the i130, then ask her how where and where we met. Then questions oh how the relationship progressed and few basic questions about our marriage. When where and why we decided to get married and went on to verify our information on the o130. After that she approved the i130. After all that she directed all her energy towards me the applicant and went through my whole eligibility aspect then my medical and spent some time going over questions related to 2 prior arrests that I had in 2014 and 2015 asked me to explain what happened in every arrest and what I had plead guilty to. After that she went through the co sponsor affidavit of support and hinted us that if approved my sponsor would be responsible for any government assistance I’d get in the future.
She kept going through the i485 and once again later on mentioned that since we are married more than 2 years I’d get a permanent GC. (Second hint)
Then went on to the security questions and explained to me that she was not gonna approve me today because she needed to do a final background check and the supervisor would need to review my 2 arrests but she doesn’t expect to get a dent from supervisor and if anything else
Looks good she was good to go. Made copies of some documents and our ID’s my EAD and took our son birth certificate and finally after an hour and a half she gave my wife a document that case was under review and if we don’t hear in 120 days to raise a SR and took my fingerprints and photo and made me sign the i485 and once again she said everything looks good on her side and we’d get a response on the mail soon
