interview experience
so my big day finally happened yesterday at the Newark field office
my appointment was a 7:15 am we got there on time waited outside in a long line about 30 minutes, (it was so cold) we passed the security check (the security people were extremely nice) we took the elevator to the 14 FL we wait around 45 minutes to be called by the officer we were kind of nervous because one officer in specif were canceling some people interview the reason "system issue" not sure if it was true but i felt sad for those people :( we finally met our officer, she greeted us and told us we have to go to the 3th Fl were her office was,0 we took the elevator together and she asked me if i needed i translator and i said i would like to and then she said that my English sounds very good so she made me feel relax and comfortable then i asked her to break the ice lol if she speaks Spanish and she says 'un poquito' that she was actually studying...we got to her office and she made us wait outside of her office to double check our application then she came and walked us to her office, thank God i wasn't nervous my husband was a little she started asking question to him he fail in 2 which i think she did not care,(date of the marriage and when i quit my last job) but i wanted killed him hahah then she asked many questions about his family, how we met, if i worked illegally in the state i said yes, she thanked for being honest, If i ever were denied to entry to US, where we went for our honey moon, my husband company name and then told me to give her everything that we have with both name on it, i brought 2 photos album married pics and regular pics together she went to each one and told me she loved my wedding dress... at the end she said everything looks good and she believe in our marriage but in order to get my green card approve i need to send my divorce certificate signed by a judge which for me was weird because in my home country DR a judge just don't do that but she said will need to speak with her supervisor if he says its ok she will send the green card in 2 weeks to 1 month or a letter explaining how send the freaking final judgment of divorce i was kind of disappointing because i just wanted to get done with this stressful process... i got to say the officer was super nice and professional i felt she showed me empathy because she was also an immigrant herself (asian) with an accent like myself haha we went home like in a 3 hours i got i called from her I was super surprise!!! I think she got confused about the divorce thing and she wanted clarify what she exactly needs and then she said wished me the best...my experience overall wasn't that bad... praying God the outcome of this journey be good and positive!!
