Interview experience and timeline
Hello everyone! This is my first time posting here. I hope my post will help some of you to get an idea of the overall n400 interview and application time line.

5 years permanent residence eligibility
PD: 8/15/17
Biometric: 09/4/17
Interview: 04/12/18 (today)

My interview's time was at 8:45. I got there 8:15 and the IO came to get me at 8:50. The whole interview was about 15 minutes long. First part of the interview was to go over the first 2-3 pages of my N400 application (confirming name, DOB, name change request, parents info, and addresses). Then we moved to the civic and English test which was super easy (finished it in less than 5 min). The IO asked 6 civic questions , then have me read out loud a sentence, and to write down a sentence. Then we finished off going over the rest of my N400.

*As I had requested for a name change, the IO asked for 2 passport photos which I didn't have with me at that moment, but he gave me a pass to come back the same day to provide the photos. So if you have requested for a name change, make sure you bring 2 passport photos.

*Result: The officer said I passed the test, and he's approving the application but because I still have to give him the 2 passport photos the interview result as of now is "The decision cannot be made at this time". He marked this on the decision form and show me but reassured that it was just because I need to drop off two photos for the name change.

I came back with the photos 30 minutes later and drop it off at the reception as the receptionist called the IO and he said he will come out and pick it up and that I'm good to go. I wish I could have talk to the IO again when I dropped off the photos to ask about wait time for the oath letter and make sure if everything is approved. The receptionist said I should get a letter within 2 months or earlier.

*Overall the IO was very respectful, and the interview itself was not as difficult and stressful as i thought it would be. I'm happy that the interview is over but still a bit nervous since I didn't exactly get the actual passed form N652. But I'm trusting what the IO has said to me.

** My advice for you all is to be 100% Honest when answering the yes/no question especially the tax question, and #32 - #35. I will update this post again once I receive the letter in the mail.
