Interview Experience Today - Approved on the spot!
PD: June 19 2017

So today we had our interview at the Los Angeles field office, and so happy to say that we were approved on the spot!! I'll post below my experience and the questions asked.

Our interview was at 12:15pm at the Los Angeles Field office. We arrived 45 minutes early just incase. We went through security and then headed to the 8th floor of the building and into the room that was on my interview notice.

Once we arrived, we showed the security guard our notice and then he instructed us to head to the window and check in. Once they called my name, the lady working at the desk told me my interview had been moved to another room down the hall and wrote the name of my officer on the top my paper.

We went to that room and waited for around 45 more minutes before our officer called us to come with him. He seemed very strict at first.

We went into his office and he made us take an oath, he then took my picture and fingerprints and took our ID's. He started asking questions. He asked how did me and my husband meet, then he asked yes/no questions regarding my forms.

He asked if my husbands parents like me, (the answer was no because they don't approve of him being gay) and then he asked the same question to me ( the answer was yes for me).

Then he asked to see our photos, he flipped through the album I put together and asked about our friends and family in the album and laughed at a few of the photos.

Then he asked if we have any joint documents, I handed him all the documents that I had and he took them. Then he asked my husband about his job, and asked us about our I-864 Sponsor, who she was and her relation to us.

After that, it was just a couple of questions about if we're planning to go on a holiday back to my home in Australia and some small talk.

Then he was typing in his computer for a few minutes, printed out a paper and then said "I'm going to approve your application, congratulations!" and handed me a piece of paper that says i'm approved with a stamp on it. He said my green card would come in 3 weeks in the mail!

He shook our hands and then we left! We're so happy with how everything turned out, our officer ended up being really nice and made the interview very smooth. Thanks to everyone on here for all your help and i'll update you guys once I receive my card in hand!

Thanks and have a great day everyone :)
