We had our interview in DC office yesterday, our appt was 945am, we were there like 5 mins early, we were called in at almost 10am.. we hired a lawyer, but she was late, she got there like 10 mins after we were called in...
The IO was very serious, we greeted him but he did not even greeted us back.. anyways, the interview lasted for 45mins, many awkward silence whenever he types something on his computer..
The first thing he asked was our ID's, we gave passport and driver's license, my husband's DL was still from his previous home in another state, the IO told us that it is going to be a problem because it was not under their jurisdiction, he said that even before he swore us in, and i was really nervous because we were just starting and we already had a road block..
After he swore us in he started asking questions about the I-485, then he asked how we met, when was the first time that we saw each other in person, what did he do in my country when he was there, who he met in my family and he really pressed me on the question that if i went to the US just to get married, i stared at him and looked him in the eye and answered NO...
At the end, he did not say anything about removing of conditions, and he did not say that we were approved, he told our lawyer about my husband's DL, and that when our 751 comes he should have the same DL as me, and that our joint acct should have movement, i told him that we only opened a joint acct last month because i only got a job end of june..
We got out of the office very sad because we really think that we might have another interview, but our lawyer said we were approved, and i asked about the 751, the lawyer said it is the removal of conditions...
just 10mins ago, i received a text message saying that my case has an update, i was keeping my fingers crossed that the update is a good news, and indeed it was, it says that new card is being produced...
TIPS: dress like it is the most important event in your life, my husband wore a suit, and i wore a business attire, look straight in the IO's eyes whenever you will answer the questions, me and my husband hold hands the whole time, do not butt in, if the IO ask ur husband, do not answer for him and vice versa, and finally just be honest..
Good luck everybody, im still not done with this waiting game, i still need to wait for the physical greencard... but I am so thankful to the Lord and this forum, coz without you guys, i would have gone crazy, hehehe...
