Interview was completed, Case status initial review
Hey guys,
What does it mean Initial review after the interview?

We had our interview 4 days ago, went very good. The I/O was very friendly and nice. He didn’t even asked for any supporting Bonafide —not even a piece. Lol we brought in like 15-20 lbs. I’m married to my US LPR spouse and filed I-130 was approved mid 2019 at the same time became USC. We are married fort 3.8 years anniversaries. The reason I brought tons of proofs because we have never submitted any of them when filed the I-130. But it’s OK as long as my lovely I/O was ok!

At the end of interview we were too much chitchatting about vacation so I forgot to ask the AOS/O if I was required to to sign onto Part. 13 as I got my first and last name changed and answered Yes to Questions 14-17. The I/O was walking us to the main lobby he mentioned told us our case is ok but has to get the I-130 file from somewhere I don’t remember. What I knew is right after my spouse became USC I notified NBC and NVC that I’d love to AOS within US. Idid’t bother ask him.

I spent an hour researching INITIAL REVIEW AFTER INTERVIEW WAS COMPLETED. If your guys could please share or advise,. All inputs will be greatly appreciated.

However, I was pretty positive about the interview should turn out okay from what the I/O mentioned. We believe USCIS is working on our background check now. My spouse has nothin to worry about his—but my 10 years bar was over back in 2017 I spent outside of US more than 10 years. I made it clear—proofs to the. I/O about admission denial and unlawfully presented.

Thanks in advance guys,

USCIS’ notation in my During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.
