Adjustment of Status - I-485

So I called USCIS office today and asked to be transferred to a level 2 officer. Usually it takes a while to be able to talk to one or they just schedule you for a call back but to my surprise I was immediately linked with one. I asked about the status of my case because as per their mail they asked me to call them if I don't get a decision before today. This person doesn't sound like a level 2 officer cos after placing me on hold for 2 minutes he was like can I create another service request for you? Tier 2 officer never asked me that kind of question before. They're always able to provide more accurate information about cases. I also asked him if I'm eligible for automatic ead extension he answered to NY surprise No. On USCIS website my category c09 is listed as eligible then I ended the call. Few minutes later this individual called me back not with USCIS number or a private number like they usually do but a number starting with 646- then he apologized for providing me with wrong info that I was actually right my category is eligible for automatic extension. I doubt if he was truly a level 2 officer ... This is something new to me , the reason why I think I should share with the forum. Anybody experience this kind of issue before
