My nightmare was over!
Hello Readers,
Just want to share my experiences to everybody... It was too late for me to find this helpful website..I wish i found this before going to my citizenship interview.. this is my story.. me and kids came here as K3 & K4 visa last 2003, I got my gc on 2004 but unfortunately my eldest didn't get his gc because of age, but it's ok..we were able to filed a separate petition for him. while my youngest got his pgc.. now let's move on.. last April 2007 I applied for naturalization, gathered all the doc requirements..everything's ok.. then got my fp, then waited for several months for my interview... I was with my husband.. he wants to joined me in the interview but the officer said he cannot, with a very strong and command word.. then I got really nervous... when we entered his office cubicle.. he was really mean, he commands me to put my belongings to the other chair then he asked me what is my proof being married to a USC, I was a bit shocked then finally I realized he was asking for documents, like IRS, marriage contract.. then he started scrutinizing my docs, then with-out any advice he started asking me civcs q and history, he asked if i read that word and asked to write a simple sentence...the most shocking to me is that and he read my doc that I've worked in a mental health, he said like.. so this is whre your husband live? And I said no, that's where I'm working.. it is clear on my paper that I was working there... then he said again like an insult way of pronouncing it that.. " oh so your the fifth wife of your husband" I said yes.. but i think i should say that time " and so?" and he kept asking me over and over again about the date of our weeding, over and over gain, do we pay taxes, over and over gain.. the interview lasted I tihnk 20 minutes but it's 20 minutes gruelling and adjectaitng minutes of my life... the way the officer held the interview was like Iam a criminal.. then finally he said , I passed the interivew but he cannot make any desicion yet, i stood up and grab my stuff and I just said thank you, then finally he smiled and said thank you on my home language...I want to get out of the building right away.. I told my husband about how he threated me and he said he was also insulted the way the officer handled my interview.. for how many nights nad days, my chest were trembling.. what did I do wrong... will i get an intivation letter for oath taking or what... I couldn't sleep.. my husband said if only he knew that this will happen, we will hire a lawyer.. but after a month i got my invitation letter for my oath taking... finally it was over but the nightmare of that interiew still vivid in my mind and feels like it was just happened yesterday... it was an experienced that I will never forget! This experienced it brought a lesson for me that no matter your honest, no matter how authentic your docs are.. still don't feel to confident because you'll never know how their going to address your situation...
