N400 Interview
hello guys!

i wanna share my timeline and experience during my N400 application since i'm not busy today. LOL

3-year rule
Orange County, CAlifornia

Sept 23, 2022 - sent n400 application online
Sept 23, 2022 - received application and biometrics reused
Jan 11, 2022 - interview schedued
Feb 17, 2023 - interview day
Feb 17, 2023 - In line for the oath ceremony (hopefully they will send the schedule this week)

interview time is 9:10am. i entered the facility at 8:55am. 9am i checked in to the window, waited an hr for the interview proper. waiting time is longer than the interview per se, interview took more or less than 15minutes coz i timed it the moment i got seated lol.

The officer asked me to sit and i said thank you. he asked for whatever joint documents i have with me. so i gave him taxes, car insurance, beneficiary, lease agreement, i have joint bank account statements but i did not submit them anymore lol. i asked him if he was going to keep those and he said yes! and then i told him "but those are original copies" im referring to the lease agreements. he said ohh... but u submitted them online right? i said...hmmm i think so.. but im not sure... i hope so.. and then he laughed lol
he asked for the irs agreement and terms of payment since we owed taxes for a particular year. and then he asked for my beertday haha. when we got married, and then for our home address he asked me to spell it out since it is very long and we spell it out together lol. he asked for my wife's original cert of naturalization but i didnt bring it, i brought her passport instead. haha. he said the copy i sent online was a bit blurry.

then he proceeded with the english and civic test.

which group of people.... ans: africans
what did martin luther king do.... i answered freed the slaves (but i just realized days after the interview that that was not the correct answer, it should be fought for civil rights) but still he kept on the questions lol
how many justices... ans: 9
what month do we vote.... ans: november
what happened during 9/11.... ans: terrorists attacked the us
sorry i forgot the other question lol

then he asked for my passport, 10year gc and 2year gc, scanned them
then he told me to bring those gc on the oath taking ceremony. i asked him if i could keep the 2yr gc for remembrance, he said no. they will get both of them. lol
there was also one officer who was there during our interview, he just asked a little help from my interviewer. he was the one who told me to take a picture of the gc as remembrance lol. and he was the one who walked me out of the building and not my interviewing officer haha

asked me to look on the tablet if everything was correct and signed.

oh btw, he took me under oath almost at the end of the interview! LOL

and that's it.. one step away to get white-washed! JK! LOL
good luck to all and God bless!
