New OCI application at SFO
Just sharing my application details so far:
Application sent to VFS: Jan 19, 2021
US passport received back: Feb 15
OCI document printed: March 12
Dispatched from MEA (OCI): March 16
Still awaiting for the OCI to be delivered to me. Called the VFS call center today since it has been almost a couple of weeks. Apparently, the OCI card gets sent directly to the SFO consulate, the Consulate processes them in bulk and then gives it to VFS for the shipping. Once VFS receives it, it will take only 24-72 hours for the card to arrive at home. But how much time the Consulate is expected to take to process (after the OCI is printed/received from Delhi) is not known.
Will update after the OCI is received.
