Newark AOS Interview update/Experience
Hi everyone

Interview update

It’s been nothing short of amazing throughout this journey and I’m so excited.

I had my interview on 04/30/2021 at the Newark , NJ office.

We arrived at 12:33am interview time was scheduled for 12:45am.
Went through checkpoint and passed though security. Pretty much like tsa checking and went upstairs through the elevator.
We were directed to window 4 and when we got there they asked us for our interview receipt notice. They took the first page, attach to our submitted folder and asked us to wait till our name is called.

Waited for about an hour and we were called in for the interview. IO was looked nice and smiled at us while directing us to his office to begin the interview.
He quickly told us to take an oath-basically saying we will tell only the truth through our the interview.

Asked my wife who is the one I’m getting the benefit from for our passports and drivers license and also asked if anything has changed since our submission.
We quickly used the opportunity to tell him we just had our baby and he asked for a birth certificate.
Also asked my wife some other questions like how we met, when exactly did she know it was serious, did we meet both parents, and wedding venue (he noticed from our pictures that we had an elaborate wedding ) and finally asked how many guests did we have.
After finishing with her, he asked me about my full name , date of birth, where I work and what do I do. Also asked me what she does as well as where she works. Finally asked me the yes/no questions and said if we have any other thing to add.

We told him no and wife quickly brought out the I-683 -medical examination document which was sealed.
He thanked us that he’s so sorry he forgot to ask.

Wife quickly asked what are the next steps and when do we get our card if everything works fine.

Told us everything is okay from our end and he just needed to do some standard background check.

This took about 10-15mins and then we said our goodbyes.
On our way out he apologized for not asking more questions (we really didn’t want more lol).

We got home excited and at about 4:33pm, we received an update to our case (I-130 & I-485)stating interview completed and case must be reviewed.
5pm I-485 -card produced

I applied for an EAD renewal and at 3:30am my I-765 was updated stating it was closed since immigration benefit was received from another means.

I’m still can’t believe this and sincerely wish everyone nothing but the best as they go through this process.
