Newark FO interview experience
Newark FO
PD 9/12/2019 married to USC

Interview date 8:30 29th of March 2021
We got there at 8 in the morning with our lawyer.
Did security check and were waiting to be called at around 8:45.
Were called in at 9:10 - 9:20am

First of all IO asked for my passport and my wife's license.
Questions to me:
What's your name?
Where do you live?
When did you get married?
Then he checked in the file we had sent a lot of proofs and photos with our file.
Did you ever go back since you are here? (I was in US in 2015 too, I told him. He asked since 2016 if I ever went back? I said no)
If I have any family in the US, I told him. He asked 2 more times. Idk why. But I told him.
Where do you work and what do you do? ( I told him he said my company name looks ***. I was like wait what ? :| What do you mean ?)
What did my parents think of when we got married?

Questions to my wife:
Where does she work?
When did I meet her parents?
What did they say when we got married?
We both are mechanical engineers. He said he feels jealous of us. Lol He dropped out of engineering. My wife was nervous she said yeah engineering is hard. (Dear IO if you are reading this she did not mean to insult you in any way. She was nervous. I was nervous. lol)

Questions to both of us:
What do we do in spare time?
If we have any kids? If we plan to? ( we said no and we want to be more financially stable)
Then some laughs here and there on Mechanical engineering.
when did we both graduate

He went through documents. Noticed we have been filing jointly since we got married. He looked at our both photo albums (One had captions and dates) Took some photos from the album, Noticed we have photos together with family for birthdays and graduations.

Documents :
Joint taxes
investment accounts
joint credit card statements
joint lease
joint bills (phone, internet, electric etc)
joint bank statements
health insurance
car insurance
paystubs

In the end we got white paper saying case needs is held for review. He asked if we have any questions. I asked how we did. He said we did good. We should hear back from him in a month. Most probably less than a month. Our lawyer said we did good.

i130 status still says "case received"
i485 status still says "Interview scheduled"

My EAD expired on the same day 29th of march. This wait is killing me. :(
