No Show for 1st interview
I will sum everything up quickly. I'm a US citizen, Married in August of 2016 to my wife, she is eastern european. We filed everything in September of 2016, but she was a little over her VISA expiration date. Long story short, the marriage didn't work out and I have filed for divorce. Our initial interview was scheduled for August 1st (adjustment of status so she could receive her conditional green card as we've been married less than 2 years). I told her I'm not going to the interview, and I didn't show up, so she went alone with her lawyer. I also sent a letter to the USCIS requesting a withdrawal of my I-130 petition and included the case number and all relevant information. On the interview letter it stated that it is absolutely essential she shows up with her spouse if her adjustment status is based on her marriage, which it was. Does she have any chance of obtaining a green card now? VAWA is out of the question I was the nicest guy she's ever met and there's no way she could prove I did her any harm, plus lets just say she has a job that is "unsavory" at the least, not something your mother would be proud of. I may be wrong but I believe the case should be deemed abandoned and they will call into play the issue of her VISA being expired for what I believe is over 180 years now, encroaching on over 1 year. We aren't communicating much and I am still waiting for the divorce papers to be signed and returned to me. I'm wondering if anyone knows what will happen to her?
