I-485 in Background Security Check After Interview
My I485 marriage based interview was in September 2019 in San Jose and it's been stuck at the "Interview was completed and case must be reviewed" stage.
My I-130 was approved two weeks after the interview
I have done 2 service requests to which I've received the response "we are still reviewing your case".
I reached out to my Congressman's office and USCIS got back to them 2 weeks later with a more in-depth response saying that my case has returned to a pending background security check that goes beyond fingerprints and biometrics and they cannot move forward with my case until all outstanding issues have been resolved to their satisfaction which may include an additional interview and/or the need to contact another agency for updates or more comprehensive info.
FYI I have no criminal history and a clean background so I cannot for the life of me think of what it could be that's requiring additional checks.
Anyone else going through something similar? Please share your opinion on what you think all of this means?!
