Hi all!!

I wrote here a couple of months ago! Oddly enough, I got my interview scheduled RIGHT after I posted!

Already had an approved I-130 (back in 2018), I-765, and I-131. I-765 and I-131 were approved back in January 2020. We applied for a renewal December 2020 since we didn’t think we would hear back about the I-485 interview soon. The I-765 was approved in 93 days from filing. The I-131 was never updated and we never received a notice.

I-485 experience:

PD: 9/9/2019
Biometrics: 10/21/2019
Case ready for interview 11/12/2019

FINALLY Case Scheduled: 02/01/2021 (the wait is LONG)
Received the notice for the interview: 02/06/2021
Interview date: 03/22/2021

The officer was nice and pretty laid back. After we gave oath, we answered the below questions.

Questions to my husband (the applicant):

Whats your full name?
Whens your birthday?
Where do you live (full address)?
When did you first meet/date your wife?
When did you get married?
Where do you work?
When did you start working?
The rest were fully from the Yes or No section of the I-485. I would say to do a review of those pages to make sure everything was correct. Also be sure you are being truthful. I would say he chose a random 15ish questions from that Yes or No section. Things like have you got arrested? Did you get denied a visa back home? Did you work illegally in the US etc.

Questions to me:

Whats your name?
Whens your birthday?
Where do you work?
For how long have you had that position?
What are your husbands parents name?

He then told us we shouldn’t be waiting too long for a response and that he takes up to a month but USCIS has 180 days to make a decision. We were not approved on the spot. I know my husband (and myself of course) were disappointed since we have been waiting a while. We saw that the card was being produced today and are THRILLED. THANK GOD! This full process is at 18 months in the works. If anyone is dealing with what my husband has dealt with the last few years, we feel for you. I hope your interview comes and puts your hearts at ease. It’s tough to be patient, especially when things keep adding up and you just want to be home and see your family. I also want to to thank everyone who put out their stories and timelines because it REALLY made us feel so much less panicked and alone seeing others are in the same boat. I had to post because I believe this is a platform that keeps on giving and everyone should share to put the future applicants at ease. Hopefully they get through all the COVID back logs quickly.

If anyone has any advice on this it would be awesome- our I-765 was approved recently but the I-131 was not. Is there anyway they would send us the travel "passport" document or would that no longer be valid since it was mailed when we had a pending I-485? I know some people just travel with a green card but there are reasons we would like to have that document handy. Thanks in advance!
