- Tried following up on the VFS tracking website, "invalid inputs"; The Indian Govt Ref # is the Ref number to use - they don't tell you that anywhere until later
- Jan 18 : First phone call to VFS call center to follow up on status. VFS promised escalation to their NY team.
- A series of not very meaningful email exchanges with VFS
- Jan 25 : Second phone call to VFS call center to follow up on status. VFS promised a second escalation to the team in NY.
- Jan 26 : Received SMS confirmation acknowledgment
- Jan 27 : Received US passport post verification (via Fedex return label)
Status on the VFS website now says documents sent to embassy. Get the feeling the timeline really starts from the time VFS says they sent documents over to embassy.
