OCI Misc (Gratis) Processing beyond 110 days

I'm 62 years of age. I applied for OCI MISC (gratis) update due to issue of new passport.
This is my 3rd OCI card update in 6 years. The first OCI card was processed in 3 business days, actual card (new) was received at the Embassy of India on the 5th working day; the 2nd card (again new card) was received in less than 20 business days; this one the 3rd OCI card application is for update of passport is taking longer to process.
Date applied: October 22, 2021
Application acknowledged: January 4, 2022
Status as of today (February 9, 2022) "Your application has been acknowledged by competent authorities. It is under consideration."
Sent a message via Madad App. No actual response. Madad App team marked my grevience as "Work in Progress". No further update.
Waiting patiently: 111 days
Question: Anyone experienced such a delay? Please comment.
Will update accordingly.
