Parents Visa Approved
My parents had their interview yesterday 02/07.
Since they do not speak English I had booked the appointment in Kannada. They had some issues with the photo on D-156 form. They had to come out and get a new photo taken in a studio nearby (of course they charged Rs 400.00 for 2 pictures). Once these issues were sorted out, they had the interview done which as per my father was very smooth. Following questions were asked.
1. How many children do you have ?
I have 5 children.
2. Who is in US ?
My eldest son lives in US.
3. What does he do ?
He works as xxxxx in xxxxxx company in New York.
4. How long you intend to stay in US ?
2-3 months.
5. Then why did you write 6 months in your application form ?
I might stay a little longer. But I'm not sure right now.
6 .All right. You will receive your passports in the mail.
We haven't yet received the passport, so I'm not sure if they got 10 year multiple entry.
No questions were asked to my mother (who was very nervous about the interview).
My brother had painstakingly prepared lot of supporting documents, but the visa office didn't ask for any of them.
I had coached my parents with some of the questions I had gone thru with this website. This site really helped me to prepare the proper documents and help my parents to answer the questions.
