Philadelphia FO Interview Experience
Hey guys
I had my marriage based interview today, and had a great experience over there.
The interview barely lasted for 8-10 minutes, the immigration officer was a very nice and friendly person.
After entering the room, I even made a decent joke on something when the officer and my wife started laughing, sometimes it's very good to make a good conversation by starting the conversation to ease the tension.
One of the reasons for our interview short time was that we submitted all of the copies to show bonafide marriage while filing for adjustment of status. On the recommendation of my lawyer, I even included our initial chat conversation, joint statements on almost everything, rent lease of home, car insurance, health, dental etc.
I think that the immigration officers never discriminate, they just follow the protocol and what they are supposed to do. Especially for marriage based interviews, it's their job to ensure that the marriage is real, and because they don't personally know you, you have to prove that yourself in your own way.
In my opinion, before calling you in to the interview room, the IO checks your file to see if you submitted anything, and that really helps to develop trust.
Shortly after the interview, in 2 hours, my status was updated to 'Card being produced'. No status change on i-130 receipt though.
P.S. it was not like I was called in for interview too early, we waited for almost more than 2 years for our interview turn.
All the best everyone :)
Thank GOD
