Adjustment of Status - I-485

I was put to removal processing and I applied for defensive asylum 2018 but still pending I had renewed my EAD severally. I got married to a US citizen and she file for i-130,I-485,I-131 in November,2020 through an attorney and we never heard back from USCIS plus money was not cashed out from our account. we made several efforts reaching out to them but they claimed they didn't receive any application from us and we were advised to submit another application and this is when we thought the attorney never submitted the application yet and we had paid the attorney 90% of the bill.
However, my EAD for defensive asylum was nearing expiration and we decided I should do the renewal by myself. I just wanted to ensure the attorney was being honest with us because we asked the attorney if the file is submitted and she said yes. I applied for the EAD renewal with tracking number in hand, it was delivered and the next day money was taking out from the account by USCIS, Then, I realized the attorney might had not submitted my application. This time, we did the application by ourselves without the knowledge of the attorney, We filed I-130, I-131,I-485 concurrently at Illinois lockbox, it's been 12 days but no word from USCIS and money is not taken out from the account yet and tracking shows delivered with date and time.
I am just curious and kind of worry at the same time. I don't know what to do.
Please no advise or thoughts is too little. Kindly share?
