Hi,
I got my H1B stamped on Nov.19 '07. I went with my kid and spouse. My Interview time is 10.15am and I reached there by 10.05 pm and I made an entry immediately. Other formalities are over in 20 min. Since my kid is 7 years old, they ask to wait for some time for interview. (Having below 5 years kid can override all the queues). We waited for 30 min. then they take us to an Interview counter directly.
One person was attending the interview and another lady on the queue before us. I observed that VO was much concentrated on screening the background of the candidate on computer (may be like qualification, experience, previous visit to US and other countries) rather than asking questions. The guy on the counter issued Visa after 1 or 2 questions.
Then the lady (H4) went to the counter, she was asked about the salary of her husband and asked her to show the Marraige Album. Since the actual Album will not enter into the Interview Counter, she was showing the album outside the counter turning out the pages and VO was watching the same from his place. Be seeing the album, VO asked her whether he is her husband (??!!), then he issued the Visa.

VO : What's your degree
Me : -Answered
(Looking the screen for sometime)
VO : What's your project
Me : -Answered in 2 sentences. 1.Techonlogy and 2.Name of the project
(Again concentrated on the screen, then he see my wife and kid)
VO : Do you have birth cert. of your kid?
(I taken it from your wife and gave it to him. He didn't see it, returned it with Approval petition)
VO : I'm issuing you the visa, you can collect it in a week's time.
(Since I have to leave india in 2 days for a project ..)
Me : Can i collect the passport at VFS counter today?
VO : You may get it by tomorrow .. Please wait..
(He signed my DS156, DS157 and kept the blue folder aside, then given me a sheet with details of VFS address and cont. no. Since I know this details early, I saw the sheet provided by him contains old VFS address)
I feel, my VO's approach and response was very good. I got my passport next day.
To my opinion, be confident, Arrange all your papers properly with index, if you delayed in showing the documents, chances of getting 221-g and they may ask to drop everthing at VFS counter.
