Processing times in Minnesota
Hello Everyone,
I am on my H1B visa (not stamped), got married to a US Citizen August 2016 and filed for Green card Jan 23rd 2017. Here are the timelines:
Application filed: Jan 23rd, 2017.
Biometrics Appt: Feb 23rd, 2017.
EAD/AP Received: May 15th, 2017.
Current Status of the Case: As of May 25th, 2017, we are ready to schedule your form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice.
So today is October 3rd and seems like my case is stuck there. The USCIS processing time for Minneapolis is showing June, 2016 and my lawyer says the local office is understaffed which is why the delay. But going through this forum, seems like for other states even though the processing date is 2016 - people are receiving their interviews/GCs pretty soon, even for those who applied in Jan/Feb 2017.
Is there anyone from Minneapolis going through the same? Anyone who applied for GC through marriage in the twin cities or even last year and received their interview date? Based on which I can guesstimate my interview.
