Processing times pushed back.
I’m going to attempt to place some hope in your minds as for I see many of you guys being disillusioned with the recent processing times being pushed back. I’m no expert, but I think I am right on this.

If you have been waiting around a year or so, this new push back should not affect you!! Those who applied recently will be the ones, who will have to wait a little longer. The fact the processing times being pushed back, is a result of applications received the first quarter of 2018.

If you filed mid 2017, the surge of more cases has no affect on your priority date. Here’s how I can back up my claim.

PD June 12, 2017 (Phoenix Arizona field office) the processing times have been a steady 11.5-17 months. On May 31, 2018 the new processing times was posted, pushing Phoenix to 13-17.5 processing times. At this point if the processing times, applied to those of us who has applied in 2017, my interview date perhaps would be pushed to around the second week of July, in order to comply with the 13 months processing times.

I was scheduled for my interview later on that day ( after the new pushed back processing times have been put in effect). May 31 was one day over the 2 weeks mark for my year anniversary. Which in turn makes it 11.5 months, which is exactly what the prior processing times showed.

I’m not special lol if it didn’t affect me, it shouldn’t really affect anyone else that has a priority date during FY 2017. I know the wait is stressful, and hard to grasp. No agency should take a year and in some cases even more to process an application and set up an interview. USCIS is mostly self funded, their budget is based off the applications fee that they receive. One would think that with the monstrous amount of people applying means way more money for their budget, which in turn should result in high increase of their workforce. Obviously it doesn’t appear to be the case.

In resume, I know it’s hard, I know it’s frustrating having your hands tight up together, while waiting for people who knows nothing about you and your values being a deciding factor of one of the most important life changing steps of someone’s life. Good luck everyone and hopefully I’m right!!!
