Proving Comingling
My husband and i have been married for almost 3yrs now. When he moved in with me, i was already established (been in my apartment for 14yrs), so everything was in my name. I am not allowed to put him on my lease because then the rent will sky rocket, but he definitely lives there. All the bills are in my name because my plans are so old that they are grandfathered in so we get a cheap rate. If i was to close my accounts out and open them with his name on it, i'd have to prove that he resides there with a lease that i can't provide. We do have a joint checking account (i have one and we have one together), we have a credit card together, he's the beneficiary on my life insurance and vice versa and he's on my health insurance.
