Renunciation Problems - OCI Card
I sent my OCI and Renunciation applications together. When I talked to CKGS Call Center few weeks ago, they said that I need to send in $250 Penalty for Renunciation. I sent the total amount of $600 together for my OCI and Renunciation.

1. When I checked why my renunciation is not updated, they told me that I don’t qualify for Renunciation. I was an Indian Citizen and sent a photocopy of my Indian Passport. So, why am I not qualified for Renunciation?

2. If I don’t qualify for Renunciation, why was my OCI application processed at CKGS? Is not Renunciation required for OCI?

Will I receive the OCI Card without Renunciation. I went to India in 2009 and I think I applied for Renunciation back then but I don’t remember and neither do I have a copy of that certificate.

So, again, why was my OCI application processed at CKGS Application Center at Houston without Renunciation and why was I told that I need to pay a penalty of $250 for Renunciation when I first talked to your office call center?

The above was part of the email I sent to CKGS. I dont know if my OCI card will be processed properly or not. I am very worried.
