I e-mailed VFS for some query and I was really worried with the kind of replies from them, so pathetic, so reluctant. Just have a look at the below conversation (Start reading from bottom) -

I need to book an appointment though VFS for H1B visa. Recently, I have taken a new passport, since the old passport with which I have applied for H1B contains spelling mistake in my last name.

Please guide me whether I need to use new passport or old passport to book appointment ?

Hi,
 
My Last name was mis-splet in my passport, I requested for a modification and they issued me a new passport with new passport number and other details.
 
My H1B application was filed using old passport and I had booked an appointment for H1B interview on Feb 8th through TTS using old passport detals. Now I cancelled that appointment since I want to postpone it.
 
I need to book appointment through VFS now, which passport number should I use now ? New passport number or old passport number ? Please guide me.
