Help needed with medical bills
Hi everyone,
I invited my parents from India in February and i took AIG India network health program $100,000 policy max until July ending. One day my mom had pain in her stomach and we took her to the hospital and they found out that it is appendacitis and had to do surgery. So i asked them to go ahead and perform the surgery. Everything went well until i started receiving the bills from the hospital. The hospital charged 25000 for 2 days for using their services. The insurance covers only 1750 of that amount. i called the insurance company found out that they were still receiving bills from the surgeon and anestheologists and labs. I know that i cant aford that much at all. the insurance have been good for all the small things but need to wait how it covers the fees. But, one thing i dont understand is that how can they have the limit on hospital room and board expenses to 1750 per day when it can go such high. it includes cost of operating room, anesthesia, meidcines and medical supplies. I didnt realize that it would be that high. The hospital my mom got operated is Proctor hospital in peoria. Please let me know how to deal with the issue.
