San Jose interview experience
I had my marriage based interview at San Jose (Santa Clara) office today.
I am husband (beneficiary) and my wife is petitioner US citizen.
Its first marriage for both of us, no kids, no criminal background or any other issues. Our only worry was that we lived long distance for first 1.5 years of marriage due to my wife's school and only lived together for last 6 months.
During the interview one part we screwed up. We are both from south asia and we had our traditional wedding in our home country first and then we came to US and registered our marriage officially at a different date. So when the interviewer asked us about wedding date ,we both said different date and interviewer said it doesnt match your marriage certificate. When we tried to explain, interviewer did not let us speak.
For the reminder of interview, interviewer just kept asking for documents that he needed and did not ask much questions. The entire interview was SO rushed. I brought so much paperwork to show him (544 photos taken over last 4 years, about 20 different joint bank, credit card, utility etc accounts), solid proof of us living together etc but the interview was so rushed that he didnt check any documents and just said that we will review the case and let you know the decision.
I prepared so many documents, photos, flight tickets, affidavits etc but the interviewer didn't care to check any of it. So I am super worried that they might put me on "review" for long period of time without any update and may give RFE or NOID after a year or so of wait after the interview. Is there any way I can pro-actively submit all the documents so they can make the decision faster?
