Service Request for Outside Normal Processing Time
I was looking at USCI's website about employment based processing times and it seems that for my field office (NYC) this time is between 8.5-12.5 months. My receipt day is earlier than the specified receipt day for a case inquiry, but their system does not let me raise a service request. It mentions that my case is within the normal processing time window. According to my lawyer, their system uses the day of the service center that I originally sent my application to (NSC). That day is sometime in 2018, which is before my receipt date.

But, what is the point of having receipt days for case inquiries associated to Field offices for employment based applications? No EB application is handled directly by a FO. It has to first go to a service center. In addition when your application is transferred to another office the new office has jurisdiction over your case. This makes no sense to me whatsoever.
