Sevis Reporting
Hey guys I have a concern that's been bothering me for some days now. It's about reporting employment to SEVIS. I got ead through marriage-based AOS and also through OPT. I have been using the ead I got through marriage-based AOS to work and volunteer but the job and volunteer position are not related to my field of study. I did not bother to report my employment since I hadn't used the OPT ead. However, I got a message from Sevis stating that reporting a non-qualifying volunteer opportunities is considered a violation of the reporting requirements and will subject me to removal. Also, being unemployed for up to 90 days after receiving OPT ead is subject to removal. What would ya'll advise I do? Should I just terminate the OPT ead since I do not use it? Your candid advice is appreciated.
