SJ Interview Experience
My husband and I just finished our interview so wanted to give some feedback for those going to the San Jose office.

PD: July 3
Interview: Nov 1, 9:00 AM

We got to the office around 8:40, went through security, got our number, and waited for about 15 minutes before being called in.

The woman who called us, Officer Cortez, was awesome and made the experience so great. After swearing us in and signing our lawyer waiver form (they didn't come with us), she went through the forms with my husband. Besides the yes/no questions from the form, she didn't really ask us anything; rather, she confirmed things, "your father's name is ___, correct?" The rest of the time, we were talking about things that didn't really have much to do with our application and the tone of the entire interview was very relaxed. We showed her two of our photo albums, but that was about it - no explaining how we met or anything. She is a very experienced officer who definitely knows how to see if a relationship is real or for the right reasons, without having to make it an interrogation.

We do not have any shared lease, bills, tax returns, or car insurance, so for people who are in a similar situation - it is not a deal breaker if you don't have these things, although they are certainly a plus.

At the end of the interview, Officer Cortez handed us our letter ("case is being held for review'") and told us to expect the green card in the next three to four weeks. The interview lasted about thirty minutes, most of which was just chatting.

Shout-out to San Jose for being a great office and feel free to ask any questions!
